Chasing sunsets at the Jurassic Coast!
The chill in the air and the rain only signify, Autumn is definitely here! Though Autumn colours are mesmerizing and dressing up for Fall is something I like to do, I did wish for summer to last longer. Before bidding summer goodbye, we spent our last hurrah at one of the best places I have ever been to, the Jurassic Coast!
The Jurassic Coast is a world heritage site that stretches from East Devon to Dorset. The name comes from the best known of the geological periods found within it. For this trip, we explored two of the famous sites of the Jurassic Coast, mainly in Dorset. It is best to travel through private transport but public transport is available as well. We did have a few adventures as we took the train to Wool Station in South Dorset then a bus to the sites (train and bus times vary).
Our first stop was Lulworth Cove, a beautiful secluded pocket whose existence is owed to the collision of continents and the birth of the Alps. It is surrounded by a Visitor Centre, a couple of shops and multiple lodges where you can stay at.
It was very beautiful that it looked like I was looking at a postcard brought to life. The challenges we experienced during our travel all went away, the moment I had a glimpse of this cove.
After spending some time at the Lulworth Cove, it was time for another challenge, our hike to reach another amazing site, the Durdle Door. But first, as the sun was setting, we caught this beautiful view. I couldn’t believe this was happening right before my eyes.
Durdle Door is the iconic natural limestone arch found in Dorset. Ever since I moved to the United Kingdom, I have always dreamed of seeing it in person and voilà, my dream just came true.
I had tears in my eyes when I saw this view. It was unexplainable, very magnificent! No photo can give justice to the magic happening here. No camera can catch it as well.
This trip made me realize the amazing things England has to offer. I will definitely be back next summer! I can’t wait any longer!
Be pretty, be happy, be you! H~
