Laneige Neo Cushion

The base makeup that will transform you! NEO = New Me!

Product Description: The Laneige Neo Cushion is the revolutionary cushion you’ll ever need. Available in Matte and Glow. The Laneige Neo Cushion Matte is a full coverage cushion that provides a flawless complexion for 24 hours by a single touch. The Laneige Neo Cushion Glow is a radiant-finish cushion that creates a prismlike glowing complexion for 24 hours.

Volume: Each cushion consist of 15g of product. The Laneige Neo Cushion Matte is in a pastel green container while The Laneige Neo Cushion Glow is in a pastel pink compact (both so cute!). Both are refillable, refills sold separately and with special cushion puffs each.

Colour: These are available in 10 shades, 8 neutral tones and 2 cool tones. (Such a great feat for a Kbeauty brand as shades are usually limited for such!) I got both in 23N which is a neutral sand.

Scent: I have noticed a light powdery scent with the Neo Cushion Glow which is barely there for the Neo Cushion Matte. Though the scent isn’t overpowering. You won’t really notice it upon application of product, unless you really try to smell the cushion itself.

Texture: As their name says, The Neo Cushion Matte has a matte finish. While The Neo Cushion Glow has a hydrating dewy finish.

Directions: After application of sunscreen, take an adequate amount using the puff and gently dab across the face. You can build up coverage by lightly dabbing it onto the skin again.

Times Used: I have alternately used both cushions for almost a month now.

Skin Reaction: Almost none. I first used these when I was on my period so I thought I did react to it, as I don’t really use matte cushion as well, but I still continued using these afterwards and 2 weeks after, there were barely any reaction.

Effect Duration: These promise to last for 24 hours but didn’t quite last that long. The Neo Cushion Matte lasted for atleast 10 hours while The Neo Cushion Glow lasted for nearly 8 hours before I had to touch up.

Price: I actualy got these on sale (big thank you to year end sales!) for 20 USD each or 18 GBP each.

Rating: I’d give both 4/5!

The Laneige Neo Cushion is Laneige’s new revolutionary cushion line which promotes the new you. NEO for New me, Elevate myself & Only me. Having learned these, I thought these were the best products to write a review on for the start of this year. These were released during the second half of last year and have been hyped up ever since which is why I’ve been wanting to try them out myself.

The Neo Cushion Matte is the more hyped cushion among these two, having seen this all over social media, probably because people are more into matte finishes these days due to the weather or for some other reason, or maybe the product is just great itself. I’m not really a fan of matte cushion as my skin doesn’t seem to agree with them but decided to get one to give it another chance. Did it change my mind? Yes, it did!

The Neo Cushion Glow is the cushion I am more excited to try out when I got both. I love my hydrating cushion and base makeup. I always prefer the naturally glowing, dewy skin. This cushion also has niacinamide, a skincare ingredient I love, as it is known for giving brightening effects on the skin. This is like skincare in makeup, who would say no to that? Well, I wouldn’t!

I have swatched my favourite gel eyeliner and red lippie on both sides of my hand and covered with both cushion with a few dabs. As you see the Neo Cushion Matte has greater coverage, since you can still see a shadow of the red lippie on the side of the Neo Cushion Glow. Both has medium to full coverage which are very buildable plus both are really lightweight too which is a great feature.

On the swatch, you can see the mattifying effect of the Neo Cushion Matte and also notice how flawless it is even with full coverage. This is one thing I fell in love with this. Also, even when it has a matte finish, my skin doesn’t feel suffocated fulfilling its said promise of comfort matte texture. Yes, it doesn’t feel dry, tacky or cakey at all even after a few hours of application. Though this only contains SPF 42 PA+++, it wouldn’t hurt to apply more sunscreen before applying this. Also, this promises to offer resistance against heat and humidity making it sweat-resistant. With the need to wear masks at all times, I didn’t see this transfer on it, which is another plus points for me!

The Neo Cushion Glow has medium coverage with radiant finish. You can see an instant glow upon application of this cushion, attaining its characteristic of Liquid Diamond. It is formulated with diamond liquefied through a refinement process ensuring a bright and radiant skin from every angle. Most cushions I have tried usually changes in colour to a greyish one but this doesn’t which is really good. Also, I really liked how hydrating this was and how this has SPF 50+ PA+++, whoever made this must’ve thought this was made for the summer, but really I’d totally use this all year round!

I am inlove with both cushions and would totally recommend depending on your choice of finish!

Be pretty, be happy, be you! H~
