Had the best time staying in the clouds!
Late last month, I had the chance to stay at Shangri-la Hotel at the Shard in London. The hotel was atleast 125 metres high, yes literally, in the clouds!
(Note: I guarantee that the current social distancing rules at the time were followed which were staying with people of the same household and support bubble only when indoors for a maximum of 6 people, and wearing face masks in public areas in the hotel and outdoors.)
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is a luxury hotel chain with branches across the globe. I am a fan of this hotel chain as I have been to its different branches in Asia so when given the opportunity to stay at its branch here in London, I grabbed this chance and I had the best time!
As we went inside the building, we were assisted to go through the lift going up to the 35th floor where the reception was. While waiting for our room, we were greeted and accepted at the Ting Restaurant to have some complimentary glasses of champagne. Seeing the sunset while enjoying a glass of champagne was already a beautiful idea!
About an hour later, we were given our room keys. As we hopped on the lift to our designated floor, we excitedly went in our room. And voila! What a spectacular view welcomed us!
We stayed at one of their Deluxe City View Rooms. It had a King sized bed, a little lounge area and office area with panoramic view of London’s skyline. Even the bath was such a charm! A pair of binoculars were also there for us to see London even more clearly from up above.
Let’s talk about sleeping in the clouds with this night view of London!
How about waking up to this magnificent pink sky with the sunrise hitting your face? What a delight!
This was the view from the 52nd floor! It was raining that day but it didn’t bother us so much when we’ve got to see the Tower Bridge like this! Such a beauty!
Shangri-La has London’s highest infinity pool and of course, we obliged! We enjoyed the pool and spent some time in the sauna too, which is the highest in Northern Europe by the way.
We went back to our room and the daytime scenery from it was really gorgeous. Though, we wished it wasn’t as rainy that day so we could’ve enjoyed a bath with such view but we aren’t complaining.
Another exciting thing we did during our stay there? Having a really good breakfast buffet while getting to see such enchanting scene. Our tummies were full, as well as our eyes!
As expected from Shangri-la, the service was amazing. The overall experience was incredible! My stay in the clouds was defintely a dream come true!
Be pretty, be happy, be you! H~
