A Kbeauty kit perfect for starters!
Last month, I shared to you the Kbeauty skincare basics. Now, let me share to you my version of a Kbeauty makeup kit perfect for starters. With starters, I don’t just mean those who are new to Korean beauty but also those who just have started putting on makeup. I will be mentioning a few brands that are not only affordable but also great for everyday use, those that I have tried and tested.
BB Cream
A lightweight coverage to make you look presentable but not too heavy is always enough for daily use. I used Etude House’s BB creams when I was still newly introduced to Kbeauty and makeup as a whole because they’ve got a variety of kinds depending on your preference, they’re light but gives decent coverage. I’m currently using Tony Moly Petite Cotton BB Cream for my daily makeup. This is affordable, buildable and doesn’t cause me to break out.
Concealer
You don’t really need a concealer when you’ve got a good base unless for those times you pulled out an all nighter and you would need to cover those eye bags up or maybe some blemishes. The first concealer I have ever tried was Etude House’s Surprise Stick Concealer. I really liked it since it doesn’t cake at all. I’m currently using Tony Moly’s Timeless Carat Dual Concealer which is very buildable and gives great coverage for your under eye areas and blemishes.
Eyebrow Pencil/ Eyebrow Mascara
Your eyebrow game should always be on fleek though your eyebrow products would always depend upon your choice and preference. I started with a pencil, I have been using Etude House’s Easy Brow Pencil ever since I started and I can’t live without it. This is very easy to use and very affordable as well but this isn’t waterproof. I then started using an eyebrow mascara to keep my brows in place as time went by.
Eyeliner
I always had a struggle with eyeliners when I started putting on makeup. I took things slow until I learned how to put it on. I started with a pencil before using gel, cream and liquid liners. Until now, my go to eyeliner is this Etude House’s Proof 10 Auto Pencil. I find this easy to use and this helps me take things faster.
Mascara
A good mascara is a must for me. I have really thin lashes so I need something that would add volume to them while maintaining the curls, just like Etude House’s Lash Perm Curl Fix Mascara. I swear by this product! It is waterproof and keeps your lashes volumized and curled.
Eyeshadow sticks
I’m not the type who applies eyeshadow for my daily makeup unless the need calls for it. I would always prefer using eyeshadow sticks for everyday use too rather than palettes because these are easier to use and you can bring them anywhere with you. There would be no need for brushes too! I love this Peripera Letter Me Waterproof Eye Crayon. I also really like Etude House’s Play 101 Sticks since these are very versatile, you can use them for the eyes, face and lips, and they’re very handy.
Blusher
I started with cream blushers and would always prefer cream blushers rather than powder blushers. I just find it less messy and I can control the amount I place on my cheeks using cream blushers. I think cream blushers feel more natural and powder blushers sometimes tend to look a little cakey. Aside from that, cream blushers can double as lip products too. My first every cream blusher was Etude House’s Water Color Blusher but sad to say Etude House discontinued this line so I looked for a good replacement which is the Chosungah 22 OMG Beach Peach Smoothie. I also really like Etude House’s Lovely Cookie Blushers, they’re very pigmented.
Tinted Lip Balm
I love lippies! All kinds of lippies in fact, I’d hoard different lip products. But for daily use, I would just prefer a tinted lip balm to keep my lips moisturized, since I have dry lips, while keeping me from looking pale. I love and I have been using this Tony Moly Sweet Stick as my daily go to lip product. I’m also loving this The Face Shop x Kakao Friends Melting Color Lip Creamer. These are the lip products I have been currently reaching out for.
Be pretty, be happy, be you! H~
