Home inside the mall!

I haven’t been travelling lately because of work and I know I have been lacking in the travel side. I have decided since I won’t be able to travel anytime now (hopefully, next month I can though!), I’d feature one of my favorite hangouts at least twice a month or so.

I am a caffeine lover and a sucker for sweets so it’s no wonder I love hanging out in coffee and pastry shops. Coffee shops have been sprouting all around the city, anywhere you go, you can see a coffee shop nearby. I’m sorry but I’m not a fan of those coffee shops wherein you can see notes and selfies of their customers all over the shop. I mean, they’re good for hanging out and having a chitchat with friends but I don’t go to a coffee shop solely for that reason. I go there to relax myself and most of the time study or read my favorite book. This is one of the reasons why I fell in love with Country Basket Cebu!

Country Basket is a pastry shop with a very cozy and homey feel. It’s perfect for both sharing your favorite slice of cake while catching up with friends and relaxing with your favorite cup of coffee while reading your favorite book. The interiors of this pastry shop is just calming with those pastel colored seats, cutely decorated walls and cool tiles but still keeping it minimal. It makes you feel like you’re just in the comforts of your home but actually inside the mall. Yes, it is inside the mall! Country Basket’s main branch is actually in Lahug, near JY Square.

Food wise, their pastries are just heaven for me! I love their cupcakes! The last time I was there, I brought my sisters with me and we had a slice of Red velvet cake, three cupcakes (the Brownie cupcake, the Nutella cupcake and my favorite, the Chocolate Peppermint cupcake), and a Choco chip oatmeal cookie. We also had a Choco chip frappe, a Caramel macchiato for me and their best seller, a must try, Mocha Cheese frappe. They also offer different meals, sandwiches, pasta and salads. I still have a lot to try, so I guess I will be coming back frequently! It definitely is a place you should go to! What do you think?
