Good vibes only! How to attract positivity?
Positivity, or the act or practice of being optimistic, is something I have always considered crucial in my journey to finding the truth about happiness.
Being in lockdown for 4 months kept me reminded of the essence of positive thinking. I won’t say that I have never felt down. Yes, there was a point when I felt really distressed and depression started to creep on me. I would even find myself staring into space and on the verge of crying.
With my favourite season, Spring here, and the announcement of the lifting of lockdown, I managed to change my thoughts, clear out my mind and cheer myself up. I surrounded myself with just good vibes. Spring has always reminded me of a new beginning, the start of a new journey and, the opening of new chances and opportunities.
In my The Truth About Happiness series, I have emphasized every now and then the importance of being positive. But how do we maintain this? How do we even attract positivity?
Here, I have listed 5 simple ways that I follow to attract positivity:
- Surround yourself with positive people!
The impact of the people around you is such a big deal. It would be helpful to expand your circle but make sure that these are the people who would support you and won’t bring you down. Spend less time with negative people and reduce negative influences, social media included. Reading or watching depressing news would only put your spirits down. No, this is not to make yourself less aware of what’s happening in the world but to prevent yourself from investing feelings on things that wouldn’t help you. Remember, good vibes only!
- Take time for self-reflection.
Self-reflection is totally essential. This aids in finding your inner strength. Be fully present too, don’t get distracted as you wouldn’t be able to watch the vibes you give off. After a busy and tiresome day, pause for a while. This is to change the tone of your thoughts. Things can get very exhausting but a minute or two to yourself wouldn’t hurt. Then, remind yourself of your life mantra and make sure to repeat daily affirmations to get yourself back up and be motivated.
- Be kind.
Kindness brings positivity. A little kindness always goes a long way, so learn to be kind. Also, be compassionate. If you want others to be kind to you, you should be kind to them first. Be less judgmental too, not only to others but to yourself as well.
- Chase after your dreams!
Set your goals and pursue them. Things may not work out at times, so we would need to learn how to be flexible. There are a lot of factors we must adapt to which we can only surpass by being resilient but never let these stop you. Keep heading forward with your goals in mind.
- Always be grateful.
You give what you want to receive so, always be grateful. If you give less, then you will only have less. If you give more, then you will obtain more. Having gratitude would keep you grounded and would help you appreciate the joys of the simplest things. Being grateful would help you realize the good things that are happening around you too.
I am a firm believer of the Law of Attraction which would always remind me of how strong our thoughts can be. Think positively to attract positivity into your life. Though, this requires to be practised consistently but, would definitely make you feel fulfilled and help you find the truth about happiness.
Be pretty, be happy, be you! H~
