Featuring my faves for the first half of 2019!
2019 has gone by too quickly and we’re already at the end of my favorite month. It’s also that time of the year when I list down my favorites for the first half of this year plus a little review on a few of these stuff too!
Beauty (Skincare/Makeup)
• Bifesta Cleansing Sheets
I have been using these Cleansing Sheets during my travels and these are really handy. I like them as they are gentle on your face as you take your makeup off.
• COSRX Portable Pad Container
I love the COSRX One Step Pads, both the Original Clear Pads and the Moisture Up Pads but they can really be bulky when you put them in your luggage when traveling so this portable container is a must have!
• COSRX Advanced Snail 92 All in One Cream
This COSRX Snail Cream is my Holy Grail nighttime moisturizer. They don’t only help regain your skin’s moisture but this helped a lot in clearing my acne scars.
• Avène Eau Thermale Water Spray
As the weather started to warm up, I usually turn to this mist to freshen up. Also, this has become part of my makeup routine as I spray this on my cushion puff before dabbing some foundation on my face which helped me achieve that perfectly flawless, dewy skin.
• COSRX AC Collection Ultimate Spot Cream
I get really bad hormonal breakouts but this cream from COSRX helped me a lot in treating those pesky spots.
• COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence
Same as the cream, this essence is also my Holy Grail essence which I have been using for years now. This is very helpful in hydrating your skin and help fade those acne scars which would be my number 1 problem.
• YSL Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation
I have been using this cushion foundation for years now and I am in love with it. I don’t think I’ll be trying out any other foundations yet. I use shade 25 but since I have tanned a bit after my holiday, I’m now using shade 30. This has medium to full coverage. It doesn’t cake too!
• YSL Tatouage Couture Matte Stain in shade 22
I am in love with the color payoff of this lippie, the best yet from all the lippies I have tried. Although, it doesn’t last that long, I wouldn’t mind touching up.
• B. by Banila Co. Lipdraw Matte Blast Stick in Wowoman (MPK07)
Looking for a matte lippie that is very creamy upon application and is very moisturizing? I would definitely recommend the Lipdraw Matte Blast Stick from Banila Co! I got it in 3 shades but the Wowoman which is a mauve mlbb is my go to shade.
• Dear Dahlia Lip Paradise Intense Satin in Kate (#809)
I have been wanting to try products from Dear Dahlia and this lippie is the first one. Dear Dahlia products are certified vegan friendly. This lippie has a semi-matte finish but is still very rich and creamy in texture. I got it in Kate which is a pink beige, perfect for everyday use.
• Moonshot Honey Coverlet Stick Extreme in Pretty Girl (#908)
By now, you have known that I love moisturizing lippies. This is the reason why I’m very much into this lippie from Moonshot. Though color isn’t as vivid as it is supposed to be transparent, how smooth it is upon application and how vibrant when applied will win you off with this lippie.
• Jo Malone London Silk Blossom Cologne
I love Jo Malone colognes but I have never been in love with a body scent until I tried the Silk Blossom. This was part of their 2019 Spring Collection. I first bought the 30ml bottle but as you can see, I’m half way through it, so I got the 100mls bottle. Good thing they still had it when I dropped by one of their stores as it was only available for a limited time. I just love its sweet, floral scent.
Fashion
• Superdry Trench Coat
I purchased this Trench Coat on sale from Superdry before my trip to Seoul. This was the classic clothing piece that I have been wanting to get. I fell in love with it as it was beige but with a hint of pink. The fit was really good too. It kept me warm during those cold Spring days in Seoul. I know I’ll be keeping and wearing this for the years to come too.
• Topshop Pink Leather Jacket
It’s a love at first sight for this leather jacket from Topshop. I have been wearing this again and again during the Spring time too. It’s how much I like it.
• Fila Court Deluxe VC Sneakers
While going around the streets of Seoul, I could see this type of sneakers almost everywhere. I didn’t end up getting it there but when I got back here in the UK, I was so convinced to buy it and so I did. I’ve been wearing it since then too.
• White Oxford Flats
I got this cute pair from a brand called Style Berry from Yesstyle. I love how I can dress up an outfit with this pair. Also, this can complete any preppy outfits I would love to pull off.
• Pink Aldo Belt Bag
The bag that I have been using and abusing for the first half of the year would be this belt bag from Aldo. This can also turn into a crossbody bag. It may look small but I was amazed with how much can fit into it.
• Black Aldo Beret
I call this black beret from Aldo the perfect Spring accessory which is why I have been using this a lot, especially during the Spring time. Looking forward to my upcoming Europe trip as I know I’ll be using this a lot and for the coming Fall season too.
• Gingham Baker Boy Hat
I got this baker boy hat in Seoul and I really like it. It is a bit big for me and I would need bobby pins for it to stay put but I just love how lovely it looks when worn.
• White J’eunesse Cap
I love caps but this would be my favorite for the first half of the year. I bought this with me to my trips to Seoul and Cebu. It completes any airport look too.
• Sunnies Specs Eyeglasses
During my trip to Cebu, I got my eyes checked and sadly, my astigmatism got worse so I needed to get a new pair. Although I’m still adjusting to my eyes’ new grades, I’d still want to keep wearing these specs as I find it really cute and comfortable to wear.
• Pink Vintage Sunglasses
These glasses are another accessory I got during my trip to Seoul that I have been using since then. I find this pair of sunglasses really stylish and cute.
Lifestyle
• BTS Map of the Soul: Persona Albums
It is not new to you that I love BTS. I have been a longtime fan but this is the first time I bought physical albums and of course, I got all versions. Plus, it completes my room’s aesthetics as well (LOL!).
• The Little Book of Skincare by Charlotte Cho
Ever since it was released like 2 or 3 years ago, I have been wanting to get a copy of this book but was never able to do so until early this year. This has helped me transform my skincare routine which has definitely rescued my skin. Also, good thing I read this before my trip to Seoul as Charlotte discussed a few things about South Korea here and a few must visit places which came in really handy.
• Diptyque Candle in Mimosa
I have featured my favorite home scents to you last month but the Mimosa from Diptyque would definitely be my favorite. I just love how its sweet, fruity scent fills my bedroom. It helps me relax after a long day at work.
• Maiden Noir Objet Scented Candle in Perky Miss
Another scented candle that I’m in love with is the Perky Miss from Maiden Noir Objet. I can say that this can definitely be my signature home scent. This has that soft and sweet powdery scent perfect for the home.
• Maiden Noir Objet Room Spray in Perky Miss
Did I say that I’ll have Perky Miss as my signature home scent? Then I should have the room spray as well! Don’t you also just love the bottle? I think it’s the cutest. It can double as a room décor too.
Food
• O’sulloc Matcha Milk Tea
I love me with some matcha and this is the best matcha milk tea I have tried yet!
• O’sulloc Green Tea Milk Spread
Have I just told you that I love some matcha, scratch that, I don’t love some but a lot and I love this spread so much that I have been trying to save it to the last spoonful.
• Reese’s Spreads Peanut Butter Chocolate
I don’t usually have some chocolate spread with my bread alone nor some peanut butter but I do have them when they’re mixed together. So when I got to try this Reese’s Spread Peanut Butter Chocolate, it felt like heaven. Yes, it was that good! I have it every day as well as it just completes my breakfast.
• Goldilocks Ube Polvoron
While in Cebu, I did my best to have all the ube I needed as it wasn’t easy to find any in the UK. I even brought a few boxes of these ube sweets from home.
Travel
• Seoul Trip
My trip to Seoul in March was the dream travel I have been wanting to do. I and my friend spent 10 days there but it seemed like it wasn’t enough. So, we’re planning to go back next year and I’m so excited for that!
• Cebu Trip
My trip to Cebu was just my much needed healing time. I missed home so much and getting to spend time with the most important people in my life was able to reignite my aspirations in life. It reminded me to be humble and be always grateful for what I have right now.
Events
• Crush on You Tour: Wonderlost in London
Crush is an amazing performer and artist, and having to see him sing in January was really amazing. It was great to hear all of his awesome songs live.
• Day6 Youth Tour in London
Day6 is a Korean boy band that I really admire as they have great music. Hearing them perform live in January felt surreal for me.
