Back home! Finally!

As you all know I have moved to the United Kingdom early last year and I have found my second home here, thanks to the great people with me. But homesickness isn’t something to be avoided. After approximately a year and 3 months, I have decided it was time to go home.

Just in time for my mom’s birthday, I have come back to Cebu. Actually, I arrived 3 days before her birthday. Since I wanted my visit to be a surprise to everyone, I didn’t tell anyone I was coming home, except for my sister, and I literally can’t keep anything from her. I was so glad my plan worked out and even left my grandmum teary eyed.

One of the reasons why I intended to go home at the end of May and be there by the start of June was because I wanted to spend my birthday week there. If only I could spend the whole month there, I would but, nevertheless, I couldn’t be any happier to be there at this time of the year with the people I treasure the most.

On the day of my birthday, I just wanted it to be a day well spent with my family. We stayed in one of Mactan’s resort hotels and had dinner at a Chinese restaurant, just how my parents want it to be (dimsum buffet is life! Lol!). I did skip the tradition of wear something red on your birthday (haha!). My cousin also pulled off a birthday surprise for me when we got into the hotel room which made me really happy.

Being home always makes me feel like a princess but still grounded. Going back to where you truly belong is just so humbling. This trip reminded me of how I was able to get to where I am right now. I couldn’t be any happier, more blessed and more grateful. I made sure to spend every second with the people who I know have got my back and wouldn’t leave me. I did meet a few friends too. This trip was able to replenish my soul and reignite my aspirations in life.

Lastly, I did get my much needed vitamin sea! Everything was just lovely. How I wish time didn’t go by that fast. There will never be a place like home!
