Is double cleansing not enough? Then try triple cleansing!
I have been breaking out really badly for more than 3 months now. The breaking out has been unending, ranges from blackheads, white heads to cystic acne, and I was losing hope. Every time a zit appears, I feel like crying! I stopped using the products that I just recently added in my skincare and makeup routine but then I still kept on breaking out. Then I took a desperate move and changed every single bit of product in my skincare and makeup. I focused on using products that were for those who have sensitive skin. The breaking out stopped for a week but continued after. I did my research and concluded that maybe I wasn’t cleansing enough. I also consulted a dermatologist.
I have read about triple cleansing from SokoGlam and tried it for myself. Alas! Not enough cleansing was the culprit! The routine comprises of 3 cleansing steps (I also included some product recommendations that were pretty effective for me):
First Cleanse: Use a cleansing tissue to gently remove stubborn impurities on your skin, paying close attention to the sensitive eye area and neck.
Products used:
• Etude House Every Month Cleansing Tissue
• Etude House Happy Teatime Cleansing Tissue in Green Tea
• Tony Moly Blast Fresh Cleansing Tissue
Second Cleanse: Massage an oil cleanser to remove oil-based impurities. Rinse with lukewarm water. Lukewarm water opens up your pores, getting ready for the third step.
Products used:
• Banila Co.’s Clean It Zero (Purity)
• Banila Co.’s Clean It Zero (Original)
• Etude House Real Art Cleansing Oil (Moisture)
Third Cleanse: On a wet face, add a cleansing foam to remove water-based impurities. Rinse with cold water, cold water helps in closing up your pores, and pat dry.
Products used:
• Tony Moly Naturalth Goat Milk Foam Cleanser
• Etude House Happy Essential Foam in Vitamin C
• Etude House Happy Essential Foam in Collagen
Products always vary from your own preference, skin type and skin concern of course. I’m currently using Etude House Every month cleansing tissue, Banila Co.’s Clean it zero in purity (I adore this product!) and I alternate Tony Moly Naturalth goat milk cleanser with the soap my dermatologist prescribed.
I have been doing this for a month now every time I apply makeup and I guarantee my face has started to clear up. The stubborn zits that I have dreaded to get rid of have started to disappear. My face isn’t completely cleared of breakouts yet but I can say it has improved a lot and I’m pretty happy with the results. I don’t apply makeup every single day, maybe just about 3-4 days a week. I always provide no makeup days for my skin to breathe and rest, and I only do double cleansing for those days. Ever since I’ve tried this, I became extra careful with my skincare and makeup routine to the things I eat and drink. You may call me OC but always remember that your skin deserves the best. A good cleansing routine is the most important part if you’re aiming for a good skincare routine!
Be pretty, be happy, be you! H~
