Cafés To Visit In Cambridge

What cafés to visit in Cambridge?

One good day trip from London would be a day walking around Cambridge. I have featured this beautiful city on my UK series 3 years ago and I have questioned myself, why have I not come back yet any sooner?

Cambridge is such a gorgeous and very picturesque city, located in eastern England, on the river cam. It is known for its gothic chapel, universities and museums. One thing I have been missing out before my latest visit was how amazing their café culture is! I made sure to visit a few on my recent trip.

What cafés to visit in Cambridge?

Bould Brothers Coffee

Bould Brothers is a café founded by 2 brothers focusing on passion and customer experience. They use the best quality coffee and organic milk, which I always say yes to, plus the topnotch skills of their baristas, you are sure guaranteed an amazing coffee experience.

With 2 shops you can visit around Cambridge, we got to visit their newest location on Regent Street, while the other was on Round Church St.

Upon entering, I already liked the vibes. What is a café if it doesn’t feel cozy? Totally loved the interior too.

I got one of their specialties, The Magic, which had 3 shots of espresso. Yes, as this was my first stop in my last visit in the city, I needed a good pump up. It was really good and I totally enjoyed it. My friend got a hot chocolate. We also got a chicken sandwich to share.

Fitzbillies

A trip to Cambridge is never complete without grabbing some Chelsea buns from Fitzbillies. Known since 1920, the popular buns from this shop is definitely a must try if you are around. It’s a shop with so much history behind it!

They have 3 locations, 2 of which are café sites, we stopped by the branch in Trumpington Street just before visiting the Fitzwilliam Museum. This shop had both a quick café area where you can get takeaway buns and also a dining area where you can actually have brunch or some lovely afternoon tea.

We opted the café area and grabbed some chelsea buns which we adored.

Hot Numbers Coffee Roasters

One café I always get recommended by friends from Cambridge is, Hot Numbers Coffee Roasters. With 3 branches, 2 of which are in Cambridge while their roastery is in Shepreth. We were passing by the one on Trumpington Street, so we couldn’t help but drop by.

It had a very distinct aesthetic. They offered lots of food in their counter and coffee selection which you see on the baord. I really liked that they had offered their coffee in more sizes and you can choose over hot or iced, which is essential this summer. They even sell their own beans and surprisingly, the framed photos that were on their wall were also being sold by the store. I was amazed how they support not only coffee farmers by using ethical coffee but also a number of local creatives.

I got an iced oat latte which tasted sweet and nutty that you can tell how great the beans they use. My friend got an iced chocolate too which she enjoyed.

I would definitely be coming back to visit these shops and probably stop by other cafés in Cambridge too!

Be pretty, be happy, be you! H~
