A few tips on how to achieve healthy skin during changing seasons!
Your skin’s needs vary according to your skin type, skin concerns and the season. The products on your skincare routine would usually change depending on these factors. During the summer, you would settle on making things light while during the winter, you should always make sure to moisturize because the cold can make your skin dull and dry.
Here, I have a few to tips on how to achieve that healthy looking skin even during changing seasons:
1. Always cleanse
For me, this is skincare’s number one commandment. A good skincare routine should always start with a good cleansing routine. This is not only applicable during the nighttime but also during the daytime.
2. Never sleep with makeup on
This is not something new to anyone but not everyone follows this. I consider this as a skincare rule one should never forget about. Sleeping with makeup on is considered a mortal sin.
3. Tone it
After cleansing, your skin’s natural pH has been altered so as to keep it balanced, you’ll need to tone your skin. This step in your daily skincare routine helps calm your skin and prepare it for the next step of your skincare routine.
4. Mask on
Forget about all those serums, essences and emulsions. One way to wisely skip these multiple steps and multiple products is through masking! There are a wide variety of masks with different uses for different skin types. Given that you’re using the right mask, you’re right on track!
5. Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize
After exposure to dust, makeup and other environmental factors that can damage your skin, your skin needs to be replenished through moisturizing. During the day, moisturizing can also prep your skin before applying your makeup and can help protect your skin from external environmental factors while keeping your skin hydrated.
6. Never forget about SPF
It doesn’t mean that it’s getting colder, you can now skip the SPF. There is never an excuse to forgetting about SPF. UVA and UVB rays are two of the most common reasons to having bad skin. These can make your skin age faster. These are also found in the lights your PC and smartphones emit. After cleansing and toning, I usually just apply some moisturizing sunscreen and I’m pretty much good to go.
7. Drink lots of water
This is one great way to keep your skin hydrated! Also, don’t forget to eat healthy. How you take care of your body reflects on your skin.
